SPACE SWEEPERS tells the story of a spaceship named The Victory that has the task of collecting trash in space in 2092. When the crew of the spaceship discovers a robot named Dorothy known as a weapon of mass destruction, they get involved in a dangerous affair.
According to Soompi, SPACE SWEEPERS is the first sci-fi film in South Korea with a space theme. This film is undoubtedly equipped with incredible special effects and motion capture.
Song Joong Ki plays Tae Ho, the pilot of The Victory spacecraft. Kim Tae Ri portrays Captain Jang, the leader of the spacecraft. Jin Seon Kyu plays Tiger Park, an engineer on The Victory.
Meanwhile, senior actor Yoo Hae Jin uses motion capture to bring to life the character Opdongie, a robot with spear-shaped hands on The Victory. This is reportedly the first time motion capture is used to animate a robot character in a Korean film.
