One of his actions became the center of attention after he became a guest star on the Tone and Music Festival Seoul event on June 4, 2023. During his performance, he sang two songs, Joker and Romance Symphony. However, in the middle of the concert, he suddenly ran backstage and left his fans who were watching his performance. The fans present didn't mind as it's a common thing for singers to go backstage during a concert, for example, to change clothes, drink, and so on.

However, this incident made fans realize something after a five-second video went viral on Twitter. The video showed Big Naughty running towards a girl wearing a grey hoodie and shorts standing alone backstage. When they met, they hugged and kissed briefly, and then the girl pushed Big Naughty gently to go back on stage.

Thanks to his actions yesterday, it has become a topic of controversy among fans and netizens. Many fans find it funny and romantic that their idol still managed to find time to meet his girlfriend. However, some fans were disappointed because they thought it was unprofessional.

As his actions became controversial and caught the attention, Big Naughty quickly clarified things during a live broadcast on his personal account. As reported by KBIZoom, his apology statement was as follows, "There was one careless action that I did at the Tone and Music Festival. I apologize. I'm grateful to be working in the music industry and doing what I want. In the future, I will be grateful for it too".

He then continued, "There is a big difference between work and thoughts, and I realize that I have many shortcomings. I'm very grateful to the people who always work with me, and I'm also grateful to the people who always support me in my career in this field," he concluded.
