Struggling from Scratch, BTS Cleaned the Training Room Mirror with Newspapers When They Were Still Trainees

The memories of the past resurfaced in the minds of BTS members as they celebrated the I-LAND survival show on Friday (14/8/2020). One of them is when they explored the filming location of I-LAND before meeting the trainees.

1. Remembering the Past

BTS remembers a memory from the past when they entered the trainee practice room. V remembers how hard the BTS members practiced choreography to the point where their body heat blurred the mirrors in the practice room. Jin added that they used to wipe the condensation off the mirrors with newspapers.

"Yeah, after wiping it, when we started dancing again, we couldn't see anything," V said as quoted by Koreaboo.

2. Feeling Old

Amidst the nostalgic moment for the BTS members, RM said that they are using the phrase 'natte-neun maliya', which is often used by parents when talking about things in the past, like 'when I was your age' or 'back in my day'. This phrase is also known as 'latte is horse' because 'natte' sounds like 'latte' and 'mal' is the Korean word for horse.

Upon hearing the leader's statement, V protested and didn't want to be part of the 'latte is horse' group. On the other hand, Suga accepted that they are already 'old'. "We're just talking about old memories, after all," he said.
