Syifa Hadju and Bryan Domani, who have caused a stir among K-drama fans, have been confirmed to not be involved in the remake of 'DESCENDANTS OF THE SUN'.

Kapanlagi.com - Last year, there was a viral news about Syifa Hadju and Bryan Domani being selected as cast members in the remake of the successful South Korean drama 'DESCENDANTS OF THE SUN'. The news originated from an Instagram story post by CEO Barunson C&C named Seo Woo Sik.

However, when confirmed, Hanung Bramantyo, the director and scriptwriter, stated that the two names have not been chosen. Hanung then explained that Syifa and Bryan meeting with Seo Woo Sik was only as guests.

"I invited Syifa Hadju and Bryan Domani when the team from Korea came to Indonesia. I asked them to attend the meeting. I mentioned, 'Are you interested if you are invited to play?' They said they were interested, but we haven't discussed the roles yet," said Hanung in an interview with KapanLagi.com® last Friday (19/4/2024).

1. Manager Directly Asks for Clarity

Hanung Bramantyo explained that he didn't know that Seo Woo Sik would upload their meeting to Instagram Story. When it went viral, Hanung was immediately called by the manager of Syifa Hadju and Bryan Domani.

"Then suddenly it went viral because Barunson posted it. He posted a photo, then it was taken by other accounts. Two hours after the meeting, I was called by Syifa and Bryan's manager. They said, 'Sir, why is this already viral, why has it been posted?' I was confused, 'Viral about what? I don't know,'" Hanung said.

2. Becoming Something Serious

However, because of the viral incident, Barunson C&C finally took the process of remaking the series into a film format seriously. So far, the process is in the stage of scriptwriting by Hanung Bramantyo and Haqi Achmad.

"Because it went viral, well, it became something serious. As for the investment, we have already determined how it will be. We have decided which production houses can and cannot be involved, and for sure, this is a production by Dapur Film in collaboration with South Korea. We will carry out this production, we have already signed the contract," Hanung emphasized.
