Actress and model Hong Yi Seol finally spoke out regarding the romance rumors that have recently linked her to actor Heo Nam Jun. The two are currently starring in the drama MY ROYAL NEMESIS, which has quickly drawn public attention to their closeness. Heo Nam Jun plays the main character Cha Se Gye, while Hong Yi Seol plays his secretary.

The rumors began to circulate after several netizens discovered that Hong Yi Seol seemed to know some people in Heo Nam Jun's close circle of friends. This then sparked speculation that their relationship was more than just coworkers. However, on Friday (13/6/2026), Hong Yi Seol chose to provide clarification directly through her personal Instagram Stories.

In her statement, Hong Yi Seol admitted that she was initially hesitant to respond. She was concerned that her explanation would actually lead to new misunderstandings. However, as the rumors continued to spread and had the potential to affect others, the actress ultimately decided to speak up.

Hong Yi Seol emphasized that she and Heo Nam Jun only have a friendship that has developed since their college days. "The actor currently being linked to me is just a friend and colleague. We became close while taking classes together during our college years. The dating rumors are completely untrue."

Hong Yi Seol explained that her closeness with Heo Nam Jun is not something that just happened during the filming of the drama. According to her, they have known each other since they both attended Sungkyunkwan University, one of the prestigious universities in South Korea.

The actress who started her career as a model also admitted that the biggest reason she finally provided clarification was because she did not want the circulating speculation to negatively impact Heo Nam Jun.

"At first, I chose to remain silent because I was worried that anything I said could lead to further misunderstandings. But I felt that the ongoing speculation could harm the actor, so I decided to explain it myself."
