Initially, 2PM was a large group created by JYP founder Park Jin Young. The group was called One Day, and its members were winners of a talent search contest. After that, One Day was split into 2 groups, the first being 2PM and the second being 2AM.

All members of 2PM were products of talent searches, except Nichkhun 2PM who was directly casted by JYP Entertainment. 2PM itself debuted in 2008, with a song titled 10 POINTS OUT OF 10 POINTS. This song successfully caught the attention of K-Pop fans in Korea, as it showcased a unique dance choreography, involving acrobatics.

2PM emerged as a group with a focus on hip hop dance, while 2AM focused on vocals. Therefore, it is not surprising that during their early career, 2PM presented a swag and badass image. They were quite successful in capturing the attention of K-Pop fans at that time.

2. Success in Achieving the First Victory in 2009

Not even a year later, 2PM came out with a song titled AGAIN AND AGAIN. However, who would have thought that the song in their second mini album would successfully attract fans' attention and achieve their first victory in April 2009. In fact, because of the success of the song AGAIN AND AGAIN, 2PM became even more popular.

3. Holding the First Concert Tour

After successfully attracting fans' attention in Korea with their debut, in 2010 2PM held a solo concert. Yup! This became the first concept of 2PM when they became K-Pop idols. 2PM held a concert titled "Don't Stop Can't Stop" on July 31, 2010, at the Seoul Olympic Park Arena.

Although this concert was not an international concert, it was still the first successful concert for 2PM, KLovers. Just imagine, after the successful concert at the Seoul Olympic Park Arena, 2PM continued their concert tour in South Korea, which was attended by approximately 12,000 viewers. Wow, that's amazing!

4. Reaching the Peak and Gaining International Popularity

After successfully capturing the hearts of fans in South Korea, 2PM finally managed to win over international fans. At that time, 2PM released a song titled HAND UP and it became extremely popular. Not only in South Korea, but also internationally.

This song even became popular in Indonesia, KLovers. For K-Pop fans, you must really know this song. It's so iconic that it's still recognized until now. Even some new idols and current fans know the party-themed song HAND UP.

In addition to the song HAND UP, in 2011, 2PM finally released their first Japanese album titled "Republic of 2PM". This album also achieved success on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart. And this adds to the international achievements of 2PM.

5. 2PM's Studio Albums

Throughout their career, 2PM has released 6 studio albums. Yup! 2PM has released 6 studio albums such as 1:59 PM in 2009, followed by the album titled Hands Up in 2011. They continued with the album titled Grown in 2013, and then the album titled Go Crazy in 2014. Then there's the album No.5 in 2015, and Gentlemen's Game in 2016. The song titled PROMISE (I'LL BE) from the sixth album became 2PM's last comeback before the members started their mandatory military service in 2016. They went on a hiatus before finally making a comeback in 2021.

6. Comeback After 5 Years of Hiatus

After Jun.K 2PM completed his military service on January 2, 2020, Wooyoung 2PM followed a month later. One by one, the members of 2PM reunited. Then on January 5, 2021, Chansung 2PM completed his military service. After that, 2PM announced in January 2021 that they would make a group comeback with all six members after Junho 2PM completed his military service. Junho became the last member to complete his military service on March 20. Although Taecyeon 2PM is the only member outside of JYP, he remains a part of 2PM, and JYP Entertainment announced that 2PM would return with a new album. This was certainly good news for fans who had been waiting for 5 years. 2PM successfully made a comeback in 2021 with an album titled Musk.
