Yoo Ah In, who recently shook the entertainment world of South Korea due to his involvement in a drug abuse case, appeared at the police station on Monday (27/3/2023) morning. This is the first time Yoo Ah In has appeared in public and also at the police station after 50 days since the investigation into his drug abuse case, including propofol, marijuana, cocaine, and ketamine, began. Dispatch reported that Yoo Ah In attended the drug use investigation at the Seoul Police Station. Wearing a black suit, he walked with his head down and a blank stare.
Yoo Ah In was supposed to be summoned on March 24, 2023. However, the closed summons was postponed to March 27 because it was already known by the media.
After 50 days of investigation, it was reported that the police had found evidence and materials for the case. They confiscated two of Yoo Ah In's phones and analyzed conversations for 8 years.
The forensic report even reached 10,000 pages, in which they seized and searched Yoo Ah In's clinic and house. Clinic staff, company staff, and acquaintances have also been summoned.
The police plan to conclude the investigation with a summons on March 27, 2023. Although evidence of propofol abuse can be easily proven, the court needs specific evidence to criminally charge Yoo Ah In for the use of other drugs.
A legal correspondent told Dispatch that the police will do their best to obtain confirmation of drug abuse during the call, but will remain objective in the search for evidence.
Meanwhile, Yoo Ah In's side responded that "he knows the mistake he made and is reflecting on it," and Yoo Ah In "apologizes even though there are no words enough to convey his redemption."
