The Story of Hana Boone, a Musician Trying Her Luck in a Korean-language Mini Drama

Because the song's meaning was considered suitable, it was chosen as the soundtrack for the mini drama BACK TO ME which she produced herself and also played the role of Kim Ji Won in the mini drama. She partnered with Jo Jung Hyuk, played by Michaelchanz.

The mini drama BACK TO ME consists of five episodes and is entirely in Korean. This mini drama is aired on Hana Boone's own YouTube channel. This mother of two truly shows her resilience in her work. Hana, born in Magelang on June 2, 1990, is actually nobody.

However, armed with violin skills, Hana Maria Boone moved to the capital city of Jakarta at the age of 14. She struggled to adapt to the harshness of the capital until she was able to complete high school at the age of 17. Having no funds for college, Hana had to work even harder.

With her violin-playing abilities, Hana began participating in various orchestras. For a year, she only worked by teaching violin and participating in various orchestras while collecting funds for her college expenses.

From her mastery of the violin, she was accepted into Pelita Harapan University with a full 100% scholarship and chose the Classical Music Performance major with the violin as her main instrument.

“I am very fortunate to have mastered the violin that I inherited from my grandfather, who also loved playing the violin. My father also loves classical music very much. That's what eventually passed down to me,” explained Hana to the media on Tuesday (8/1/2023).

2. The Unfamiliar Struggle

When starting college, there was another obstacle in her life. Right at the age of 18 in 2018, Hana was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) or Clinical Depression. She underwent treatment and therapy until she graduated with honors in 2012.

After graduating, she immediately started working as a professional violinist, and Hana began to accumulate her wealth. However, if asked, Hana did not truly enjoy her life only as a violinist. Starting in 2018, she began learning songwriting and participating in several international songwriting competitions.

And, starting in 2022, she decided to focus on songwriting and singing. Through music, she also delved into acting and modeling. "I want something different and unique. That's why I chose to write songs and sing in the Korean language, which has recently become popular among young people," explained Hana.

From these various experiences, Hana wants to further expand her experience in the field of singing, especially Korean-language songs, and also in acting. "Who knows if there will be more offers in the future, especially for Korean-language songs, I will certainly be very grateful," said Hana, who continues to strive to deepen her knowledge of the Korean language.
