The release of Taemin's third album Never Gonna Dance Again starts with the prologue single 2 KIDS and continues with 2 albums, Act 1 and Act 2, with interconnected story and music like a film.

Both albums also present challenges for Taemin to find his new identity as an artist while strengthening his identity so far.

2 KIDS itself is an electronic pop song with a touch of guitar sound, and the lyrics express the painful memories of someone separating from their childhood love.

Taemin said that this song is suitable to be listened to anywhere. The lyrics are written in a simple way using everyday language.
