U-KNOW Reveals the Reason for Adopting the Cinematic Album Concept and the Meaning in Each Track: Feels Like Watching a Movie with Expensive Visuals

Kapanlagi.com - Making a comeback with the second mini album titled NOIR, U-KNOW brings an unusual concept. Adopting the cinematic album theme, where each song track is accompanied by a film track released on TVXQ's Youtube channel. U-KNOW released film tracks for Time Machine, Loco (House Party), Need You Right Now, and La Rosa, followed by the MV for the title track THANK U. Meanwhile, the track Eeny Meeny is a follow-up song, but it is only available on the physical album.

With the cinematic album, fans can experience each song with different genres and different emotions. This is visualized as melodrama, science fiction, comedy, and even crime films.

"So there is a film track for each song, and I want to capture and show the different genres and emotions of each track through visuals (like a film)," said Yunho at the NOIR press conference held on Monday (18/1/21).

Even Changmin, who was the MC at this press conference, praised how the film tracks make each song come alive. "The quality and mood of each song are truly amazing," praised the TVXQ magnae.

1. TIME MACHINE

The first track in the NOIR album is TIME MACHINE, which is a hype-pop genre song, visualized in the track film as a futuristic video with a science-fiction vibe.

Changmin describes this track film as, "Such a great expression at the end! Short but really impactful."

"We had in-depth discussions about the audio effects, so this was produced with great effort. I was actually very nervous, but Changmin was by my side giving support," explained Yunho.

2. LOCO (House Party)

As for the Loco track film, the idol born in Gwangju on February 6, 1986, describes it as a comedy film that reminds him of a party where people can enjoy the song so much.

"Loco (House Party) is an up-tempo disco house song. I hope fans who listen to it can feel like they're at a party and enjoy the song," revealed Yunho.

3. NEED YOU RIGHT NOW

NEED YOU RIGHT NOW is the first track released by U-KNOW, where this song has a trendy synth-pop genre. Yunho himself revealed that in this track, he really focused on his vocals to convey the message of the song.

"This song makes you want to go for a drive!" commented Yunho.

4. LA ROSA

LA ROSA is a track from the film that has been widely discussed, because actress Shin Ye Eun also sang and starred in the music video. The actress even took vocal lessons to give a maximum performance. With a melodrama concept, you can feel the emotions and chemistry between Yunho and Shin Ye Eun.

Yunho repeatedly praised Shin Ye Eun for being so passionate and even working seriously for three hours without taking a break.

5. THANK U

THANK U is the title track from the album NOIR, which has a pop dance genre that Yunho feels represents himself and what he wants to achieve. Meanwhile, the film track carries a noir movie story with expensive visuals and acting. In this music video, Yunho collaborates with top actor Hwang Jung Min.

"It also feels like a musical, which I want to show through choreography and gestures," added Yunho.
