"Many people think it's not my real name. But it is a Korean name," said Jennie.

So, if written in Hangul characters, Jennie's name is pronounced as Kim Je Ni.

2. Inspiration for the Name Jennie

Not only that, Jennie then tells a unique story behind her name. Apparently, her name is related to the top Korean actor, Lee Jung Jae. "Actually, my mother is a fan of Lee Jung Jae," says Jennie.

Jennie's name was inspired by Jaehee, a character played by Lee Jung Jae in the drama SANDGLASS. Initially, Jennie's mother was going to give the name Jaehee if her child was a boy. But since she gave birth to a girl, she named her Jennie, which sounds almost the same as Jaehee. Jennie also admits that she has watched snippets of the drama SANDGLASS that aired before she was born.

3. Already Met Lee Jung Jae

Jennie herself has actually met Lee Jung Jae before. She also tells that her name was inspired by the actor.

"He (Lee Jung Jae) was surprised and happy because my mother is his fan," says Jennie.
