Via Vallen's Music Video Suspected of Plagiarizing IU's MV, Mocked by Korean Netizens

Kapanlagi.com - The music video of Indonesian dangdut singer Via Vallen for the song titled Kasih Dengarlah Aku, sung together with Dyrga Dadali, has suddenly become a topic of conversation among Korean netizens. As reported by Allkpop, they found similarities between the video and IU's MV for the song Above The Time.

On Friday (10/24/2020), Korean netizens uploaded a post showing screenshots of the two music videos, which were deemed to be the same. They also pointed out that Via Vallen's video is not a parody but a genuine MV.

1. Via Vallen's Management Doesn't Know

Many Korean netizens openly accused Via Vallen of plagiarizing IU's MV without trying to hide the similarities. From the beginning, scenes from IU's MV were copied in detail. Even the storyline of both MVs is the same, and even the props used are similar.

After this controversy became a topic of discussion among many K-Pop fans outside of Korea, Via Vallen's management finally made a statement in the comment section of the YouTube video. They said they were just following the director's instructions and didn't know about the similarities.
