Warm-up Before Comeback, SHINee's Legendary Album Will Cure Shawols' Longing

Since their last album release in September 2018, only Taemin has been actively working on several solo singles, including the explosive hit Two Kids last year. The rest, Key, Onew, and Minho, chose to take a temporary hiatus from the music world and fulfill their mandatory military service.

After various teasers released for the first time during the SM Town Concert 2021 until the end of January, SHINee confirmed their reunion with Shawols through a new album titled DON'T CALL ME. Before its release on February 22, let's reminisce about SHINee's legendary album.

1. THE SHINee WORLD

This is SHINee's debut album that made the names of Jonghyun, Onew, Key, Taemin, and Minho soar high. Released on September 1, 2008, this 47-minute album is a continuation of the EP REPLAY that was released a few months earlier.

The standout track on this album is Sanso Gateun Neo (Love Like Oxygen) which once dominated the South Korean charts, and A.Mi.Go (Amigo) which is perfect as an anthem for going to school, complementing the already booming single Replay. 2. LUCIFER

Don't forget to include LUCIFER in the epic discography of SHINee. Just two weeks after its release on July 19, 2010, this album sold more than 124 thousand copies in South Korea.

3. THE FIRST

Excuse me! After achieving great success in their own country, the SHINee group began to expand into Japan by releasing the album THE FIRST. Indeed, the charm of Jonghyun, Onew, Key, Taemin, and Minho truly shines and they have become famous outside of South Korea.

Containing the Japanese Version tracks of famous singles that have been previously released such as Love Like Oxygen, Hello, Juliette, Amigo, and Lucifer, this album is even more complete with original singles such as Better, To Your Heart, Always Love, Start, Seesaw, and Stranger as bonus tracks. THE FIRST made history by selling 94 thousand copies after its release.

4. THE STORY OF LIGHT

Released on June 25, 2018, preceded by the release of two EPs a month earlier that have proven to cure the longing of Shawols. As SHINee's first full work with a 4-member lineup, THE STORY OF LIGHT certainly holds historical value for fans. This album was released after a difficult period in 2017. 

After Onew was involved in a case in September 2017, three months later the dark cloud deepened when SHINee's frontman, Jonghyun, was found lifeless in his residence. Without a doubt, THE STORY OF LIGHT succeeded in becoming a light and opening a new chapter for SHINee, Shawols, SM Stan, and music lovers worldwide.
