Yiruma World Tour Live in Jakarta First Concert, Two Days Sold Out, Inviting Audience to Stir Memories Through Instrumental Piano

Kapanlagi.com - Korean pianist and composer, Yiruma, held Yiruma World Tour Live in Jakarta. This is the first time Yiruma held a concert in Indonesia. The concert, held for two days on April 26-27, 2024, was successfully held and sold out in a short time. KapanLagi had the opportunity to attend the concert on the first day, and enjoyed the melodies of piano performances by the 46-year-old pianist.

Yiruma performed 21 songs that night. The concert opened with a performance of the song Berrylands Rd., which he released in 2020, where he sat in front of his piano without any accompanying music that night on stage. The audience at JIEXPO Convention and Theater were truly captivated by the sound of his piano.

1. Story About Songs, Many Memories for Him

Berrylands Rd. was the opening at Yiruma's concert that night, gradually the audience seemed to be carried away in memories through Yiruma's 'hypnotic' piano from several songs he performed, including Stay in Memory, Passing By, Blind Film, Room With a View, and many others. Of course, the popular signature songs like Maybe, River Flows in You, and Kiss The Rain also became the peak that stirred up memories given by Yiruma to the audience.

Yiruma also shared how he was inspired to create those songs. One of them is Room With a View, which he composed while living in London. Some songs were also accompanied by violin and cello.

"I remember very well how my mother painted my room in yellow. I didn't like it at first, but I truly felt how the light entered the room so brightly because of it," he said.

2. Yiruma's Dedication Song for Indonesian Fans

At the end, Yiruma closed his concert with Reminiscent. However, unexpectedly, he returned to give a special gift to Indonesian fans with an Indonesian song titled Mantan Terindah. Yiruma played this song with his agile fingers, as if it was his own song. What's even more exciting is that the audience also sang along with the piano accompaniment.

Not stopping there, Yiruma received a bouquet of flowers that night, and finally played one more song as his final dedication. Somewhere Over The Rainbow was his choice of encore song. And the concert truly ended that night.
