Becoming a K-Pop idol is not easy. K-Pop idols have limitations due to the regulations set by their agencies. Although they have singing and dancing talents, only a few of them get the chance to produce their own songs.

This is because agencies want to maintain the image they have created for the group. Agencies tend to exclusively hire producers. For example, BLACKPINK, whose majority of songs are produced by THEBLACKLABEL's producer, Teddy. However, there are also some K-Pop idol members who get the opportunity to contribute to their songs. One of them is Taeyong NCT, who has just debuted with a mini album titled SHALALA.

However, in the K-Pop industry, there are also idols who have become song producers for their group, soloists, and even groups from other agencies. Curious? Let's find out the information below.

1. Bang Chan Stray Kids

Stray Kids is a group under JYP Entertainment known for their masculine songs with aggressive rap and energetic performances. Many people also consider their songs to be 'noisy'. However, their song titled MIROH (2019) is famous for being effective in drying out water from water-damaged gadgets. 

But did you know, KLovers? That song was actually produced directly by one of the members of this group, Bang Chan. Bang Chan is also known as 3RACHA along with two other members, HAN and Chang Bin. Besides producing songs, Bang Chan, HAN, and Chang Bin often write lyrics for Stray Kids' songs, most of which contain rap. 

2. RM BTS

Kim Namjoon, commonly known as RM, is one of the members of BTS who has the ability to create and produce songs. As an idol, rapper, and music lover, RM has released various songs where both the melody and lyrics are created by himself.

Several popular BTS songs are actually produced by RM! Starting from IDOL (2018), Butter (2021), Mic Drop (2018), and many other songs. His songs are not only included in his own group's albums, but also in albums of other artists like TXT and Coldplay.

3. Suga BTS

Min Yoongi or better known as Suga, is one of the members of BTS with the most prominent talent compared to the others. Besides being active as a member of BTS, Suga has also created many songs for his solo projects, the group, and even for other artists.

One of Suga BTS' creations, namely Eight (2020) sung by IU. In addition, Suga has also made songs for several other artists or musicians, such as Heize, Epik High, and Halsey. Suga even made the Samsung phone ringtone called Over the Horizon.

4. G-Dragon BIGBANG

The leader of the famous Korean boy group called BIGBANG is known as a music genius. Not only being a member of a phenomenal boy band, but he is also known as a rapper, songwriter, and a reliable producer in the KPop industry. Therefore, it's no wonder that he is dubbed as the "King of K-Pop".

G-Dragon, who has been involved in the Korean music industry since 2006, has created hundreds of songs, and many of his songs have achieved great success in the market. Some of G-Dragon's famous songs are Untitled, 2014 (2017), That XX (2013), Crayon (2013), Crooked (2013), and Who You? (2013). Have you listened to any of them?

5. Woozi SEVENTEEN

Seventeen is a group consisting of thirteen members with a unique concept. They have three different units, namely vocal, rap, and performance, which assist each other in the process of producing comeback songs. One of the members is Woozi.

Woozi is a producer and the main songwriter in Seventeen. This idol and vocal team leader has produced hit songs for Seventeen, such as Super (2023) and Adore U (2015). In addition, he has also been a producer for I.O.I's farewell song, Downpour (2017).

6. So Yeon (G)-IDLE

So Yeon is one of the members, leader, and main rapper in the girl group (G)-IDLE. Her ability to write lyrics and create songs has been shown since she appeared on Produce 101 and Unpretty Rapstar. Her journey in making songs was not easy. One of (G)-IDLE's songs, HWAA (2021), was actually rejected several times by CUBE before finally being approved. 

As time goes by, So Yeon always makes Neverland and non-fans look forward to new songs from this group. Some other songs produced by So Yeon are Queencard (2023), Nxde (2022), Tomboy (2022), and Dumdi Dumdi (2020). And interestingly, all of these songs exploded and became trends worldwide. Wow, that's really cool!

7. Hui Pentagon

Hui, who recently appeared on Boys Planet 999 as a contestant, is a producer, leader, and main vocal of the Pentagon group. This is the person who has created hit songs for Pentagon, such as Shine (2018), Humph! (2019), and Daisy (2020). 

In addition, Hui has also produced songs for the Mnet survival show, Never (2017). Not stopping there, Hui also produced the debut song for the Produce 101 Season 2 group, WANNA ONE, which is Energetic (2017).
