'YOUTH' Drama Inspired by BTS-Universe Postpones Shooting Until Next Year, Here's the Reason

Kapanlagi.com - The drama YOUTH, which is adapted from BTS-Universe, is reported to postpone filming until next year. Filming, which was previously postponed in October, was scheduled to continue in November but has been postponed until this month.

It is said that the filming process cannot be continued until the end of the year. Therefore, the company has decided to resume filming in January next year.

As known, this drama has received a lot of attention because it is adapted from the BTS-Universe series album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life. The BTS-Universe itself tells a different narrative from each member by revealing various stories metaphorically and symbolically, which are completed through various content such as BTS music videos.

1. Change Character Names

Previously, it was confirmed that this drama has postponed filming until the end of October 2020. Co-producers Chorokbaem Media and Big Hit Entertainment explained that the filming process was temporarily halted in order to change the character names used in the drama.

"Filming has been postponed due to the process of adjusting the character names in the narrative story based on the BTS universe. We will resume filming after making these adjustments," said Co-producers Chorokbaem Media and Big Hit Entertainment.

For your information, the seven main characters of the drama YOUTH use the real names of BTS members, namely Kim Nam Joon (RM), Kim Seok Jin (Jin), Min Yoon Gi (Suga), Jung Ho Seok (J-Hope), Park Ji Min (Jimin), Kim Tae Hyung (V), and Jeon Jung Kook (Jungkook).

2. Responding to Fans' Concerns

This change is a response to the concerns of BTS fans, ARMY, after learning that their idols' real names will be used as character names in the drama. Many fans have complained about the use of the BTS members' real names because it is feared that it may cause confusion for the public as the story is related to dark and heavy themes, such as domestic violence.

Regarding their concerns, BTS fans have sent requests to Big Hit Entertainment to reconsider the character names in the drama YOUTH.

"The real names represent the lives of each member before they became part of the BTS group. We ask the company to reconsider using their real names as fictional drama characters that can affect their real lives instead of just pursuing profit through them," fans said.
