The collaboration between 510 and Vierratale through the song Esa x Perih has become a highlight in the Indonesian music industry. Interestingly, this project did not originate from long-term planning from the beginning, but rather started from a gimmick that eventually developed into a serious work.

Initially, 510 was known for often bringing surprises on stage to entertain the audience. One of the most attention-grabbing gimmicks was the mash-up of the song Esa with Perih by Vierratale performed acoustically. The combination of these two songs from different eras surprisingly sounded cohesive and received positive responses.

As time went on, the mash-up was increasingly showcased by 510 on various occasions. Until finally, a significant moment occurred when 510 and Vierratale performed on the same music festival stage.

On that occasion, 510's vocalist, Faizal Perman alias Ical, and Vierratale's vocalist, Widi, performed the mash-up live together. This performance became a turning point as it provided a new experience for the audience watching it live.

The audience's enthusiasm surged sharply as Widi filled in her vocal part in the song. The interaction between the two different vocal characters actually created a new harmony that felt fresh and unexpected. "At first, it was just a gimmick on stage, but the response was huge. From there, we thought about taking it seriously to create a work," said Ical.

After leaving the stage, a casual conversation between the two musicians evolved into a more mature collaboration plan. From there, 510 and Vierratale agreed to work on the mash-up to make it an official song titled Esa x Perih.

The process of working on this song took about three months. From brainstorming, arrangement distribution, to material processing, everything was done intensively to produce a solid work despite the distance.

The song Esa x Perih was finally released on April 23, 2026, and immediately received a warm welcome. In less than 24 hours, the song has recorded over 114 thousand plays on the YouTube Music platform. "When Widi comes in at the beginning of the song, it creates a moment that makes this song feel different and fresh," explained Ical.

Musically, this song presents a rich dynamic with detailed arrangements. The combination of Esa's manly character and Perih's soft nuances creates a new color that does not erase the identity of each song.

This collaboration also carries a mission to bridge the generational gap among listeners. The popular song Perih, which has been around since 2009, is presented again with a new touch, while also being introduced to the 510 listeners who are predominantly from the younger generation.
