Kapanlagi.com - Padi Reborn is one of the bands that actively works during the Covid-19 pandemic. Their work is often for non-commercial purposes. After collaborating with the Covid-19 Handling Task Force in October last year to release the song 'Ingat Pesan Ibu' (Remember Mother's Message), Padi Reborn is now involved in a collaborative music production.
Yes, this time Fadly and friends collaborated with the Alumni Family of Gadjah Mada University (Kagama) to work on and sing a song titled Kagama Bhakti. Kagama is a platform for Alumni of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) to dedicate their energy and thoughts to society, the nation, and the country.

The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, is the Chairman of Kagama who is the actor behind this collaboration. On one occasion, Ganjar Pranowo also appreciated Padi Reborn for their concern and contribution to the community. This can be seen previously from the song 'Ingat Pesan Ibu' (Remember Mother's Message). It is hoped that Ganjar Pranowo can make Padi Reborn an inspiration for the community.
“On behalf of Kagama, I would like to express my gratitude to Padi Reborn for their willingness to sing and reproduce the song Kagama Bhakti. This song has very good values. Through the musicality of Mas Fadly, Mas Piyu, Mas Rindra, Mas Ari, and Mas Yoyo, this song becomes even more extraordinary. Hopefully, it can be an inspiration for many people, not only for UGM alumni,” said Ganjar Pranowo.
The song 'Kagama Bhakti' performed again by Padi Reborn was previously created and arranged by Dika Sri Hapsari, an alumnus of the Faculty of Agriculture UGM. This approximately 3-minute song contains lyrics that depict the beauty of Indonesian nature and culture that need to be preserved and conserved. The lyrics also affirm the commitment of all UGM alumni to unite and contribute to the homeland, Indonesia.
Fadly, the vocalist of Padi Reborn, expressed his pride in being chosen to sing the song Kagama Bhakti". He feels it is an honor to sing a song that serves as a guide and motto for UGM alumni in their efforts to preserve and advance Indonesia. According to Fadly, the song has a strong magical power, with harmonious musical notation and lyrics that reflect love for Indonesian nature and culture.
“It is an honor and pride for Padi Reborn to be allowed to perform this great song again. With its notation and lyrics, this song seems to mesmerize listeners into being immersed in the beauty of Indonesia. We tried to give a touch of Padi Reborn's characteristic music to strengthen its messages,” said Fadly.
Guitarist Satriyo Yudi Wahono or Piyu expressed a similar sentiment. He shared his surprise when initially asked to work on the song Kagama Bhakti. Especially since none of the members of Padi Reborn are alumni of the campus based in Yogyakarta.
“Of course, we were initially surprised when we were asked to perform the song Kagama Bhakti. However, after talking with the Kagama officials, we became aware that this collaboration is a symbol that Kagama is an inclusive and open organization for anyone to collaborate with, as long as its goals contribute positively to the nation,” explained Piyu.
Meanwhile, drummer Surendro Prasetyo praised Kagama as an alumni network that has a strong bond to collaborate for the progress of the nation. He hopes that the contribution made by Padi Reborn through the song Kagama Bhakti can benefit the officials and members of Kagama as well as the wider community.
"As a musical work, this Kagama Bhakti song has very universal values. Even those of us who are not UGM alumni can feel the strong Indonesian nuance in this song. Hopefully, Padi Reborn's involvement can help make this song more widely known and inspire many people to love and protect Indonesia even more," said the man affectionately called Yoyo.
The presence of Covid-19 should not hinder us from being productive, KLovers. Nevertheless, always remember #IngatPesanIbu (Remember Mother's Message). Wash your hands regularly, always wear a mask, and don't forget to keep your distance. Stay safe everyone!
