After Releasing the Debut Album Titled '27' and 'Still Surviving', Db Mandala Celebrates by Launching a Music Video

To celebrate the release of his debut album, Db Mandala also launched a music video for the song 'Ku Ingin Kau' (I Want You). In the music video, Db Mandala involved several parties, including the director and the actress playing the role of the rapper's lover.

"I've met Sara several times, and when we brainstormed ideas for the music video, her name came up naturally. Because we know each other, the acting feels more natural and not awkward. It was really fun during the shoot. Sara and I are already used to the film industry. I was exhausted, but Sara was still enthusiastic. It was really fun, Sara was cool. We got all the shots." said Db Mandala.

In the music video, Db Mandala and his co-star Sara Fajira play the roles of lovers separated by distance (LDR). Not only that, the process of making this music video was done as professionally as possible.

“This music video process can be said to be DIY as professionally as possible, because I myself looked for the properties, locations, and talents. Andrew came up with a stillomatic concept. When shooting, the rain was quite disturbing because there were outdoor scenes. And the funniest part was the last scene with classical dance with Sara. I was very stiff in that scene, so we had to take multiple shots. And it was already around 1am. I was already tired. We finished all the shots around 2-3am.” said Db Mandala.

1. Song for All Ages

This song is a song for all ages. Db Mandala tries to explain the meaning of love according to his perspective. He believes that distance is not a reason for two souls who are truly united, to do whatever it takes to maintain trust in each other.

"When age separates us, I believe that those two souls will meet again in another life, or even be born as someone else but the love they have remains the same," said Db Mandala.

Db Mandala hopes that this song can help us understand love better and live this life with a happy and enthusiastic heart.

"In the future, there will be many visual projects for sure because I just released an album. And on November 5th, I have a song with my friend who is a music producer and guitarist. That song is the opening song of our EP which will probably release 6 songs by the end of the year. Actually, there are many ongoing projects. The second album is almost finished. The third album lacks 5 songs. Why do I make so many songs, this is from my personal perspective. As an independent musician, this is the only thing we can do to compete with big labels," said Db.
