Aruma Releases New Single 'Berbunga-bunga Sendiri', Highlights a Story of Unappreciated Attention

Kapanlagi.com - After successfully releasing the album Berbunga in June 2024, talented young singer Aruma returns to greet fans with her latest single titled Berbunga-bunga Sendiri. This song marks the beginning of Aruma's work in 2025, which she created together with musician Petra Sihombing. Interestingly, the demo of this song took only 6-8 hours to make while they were in Bali.

"The production was quite fast because it was completed in just one day. The longer part was indeed in the recording process so that when it's released later, it can satisfy the listeners who have been waiting for my new single after releasing the album last June," Aruma explained about her creative process.

The song Berbunga-bunga Sendiri raises the theme of deep disappointment when someone realizes that the attention and signs they give to others actually mean nothing. Aruma describes this song as quite emotional, different from her usual calm and heartfelt singing style.

"This song can be said to be quite emotional, so during the recording, I had to scream and be a bit angry when singing the last verse. It's a big challenge for me, who is used to singing with deep feelings, now having to express explosive emotions. Fortunately, thanks to the label team, this process went smoothly," she said.

1. Enjoy the Music-Making Process

Taking a long break from the release of her previous album, Aruma admitted she is focused on learning more about how to write good songs. Because of that, this single comes after a long hiatus and brings a fresh new vibe compared to her previous songs.

"This time, I want to offer music that is quite fresh compared to my previous songs, but fortunately, my voice still fits the type of song I am performing now because I also enjoy listening to songs of this kind," said the singer whose full name is Nidewi Aruman.

As a student at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Aruma also feels significant growth in her musical journey, not just in song selection, but also in adapting to trends. She wants the music she creates to remain relevant and touch the hearts of many people.

"What’s clear is that I always enjoy every process when working on music, no matter what the final result will be, and I create it with love. I hope the sincere feelings I pour into my music can reach the listeners and they can enjoy the result just as I enjoy its creation," she said with hope.

2. Exploration

In the midst of her exploration, Aruma also admitted to enjoying music from Gracie Abrams and is trying the challenge of creating a song in a similar style.

"But that doesn't mean I'm abandoning the genre of my usual songs. I'm still writing songs like Aruma that you know, I just want to explore genres outside of that to add to my experience in music," she said.

The single Berbunga-bunga Sendiri was officially released on April 16, 2025, and is now available on all digital music platforms.
