BABYMETAL Returns to Rock Jakarta, The One and Isyana Sarasvati Go Wild in the Mosh Pit

Kapanlagi.com - After a long-awaited return, the Japanese vocal group BABYMETAL finally came back to Indonesia. The trio consisting of SU-METAL, MOA-METAL, and MOMO-METAL greeted The One Indonesia (the nickname for BABYMETAL fans) on Thursday (25/5/2023) at ICE BSD, Tangerang as part of their 2023 World Tour.

The arrival of BABYMETAL was highly anticipated, considering that their solo concert in Jakarta in 2020 was canceled due to the pandemic. At that time, the tickets sold by the organizer were almost sold out.

Now, the presence of BABYMETAL is thanks to the role of IME Indonesia as the promoter. What's even more interesting is that the performer of Road of Resistance also brought their newest member, MOMO-METAL, who was just officially introduced in April 2023.

1. Venue Situation

BABYMETAL is scheduled to perform at 8:00 PM. We arrived at around 6:00 PM in Hall 10 area and were immediately greeted with a digital board displaying epic visuals of BABYMETAL. Some viewers were seen posing in front of it.

Entry to the stage (Hall 10) itself only opened at 6:00 PM (VIP) and 7:00 PM (Regular) WIB. Inside the venue, before entering the main stage, there were several interesting things to visit, such as food booths, BABYMETAL-themed backdrops for photos, and official merchandise booths. Unfortunately, when we got there, all the merchandise was already sold out!

At exactly 7:00 PM, we and other fans started entering the stage to find the best position to watch, headbang, and jump around later. Oh yeah, we were in CAT1, right behind the VIP row.

At first glance, the size of the stage in Hall 10 was not too big, especially for an artist like BABYMETAL who has often performed at various international metal events. But anyway, that didn't disappoint The One who was present. They were more focused on enjoying the experience of seeing SU, MOA, and MOMO up close.

2. Going Crazy Since the First Setlist

The clock showed 8:00 PM, and BABYMETAL immediately appeared with BABYMETAL DEATH. This song is a regular opening, as it is an introduction and also fun to jump around together.

After that, SU-METAL and the others performed Megitsune, which was so groovy and rocking. The One immediately went crazy and jumped around following the instructions of BABYMETAL personnel.

A little nostalgic, BABYMETAL then performed one of their old hit singles, Iine, which was more cheerful than the previous tracks. The audience didn't stop singing along throughout the song.

3. BABYMETAL Greets The One

Occasionally during their performance, BABYMETAL enthusiastically greeted THE ONE who was present in Jakarta. They even used Indonesian language quite fluently!

"Hello Jakarta! Good evening, how are you?" shouted SU-METAL, making the venue roar loudly.

Alternating with other hit singles such as Shanti Shanti Shanti, Maya, Metalizm, Monochrome, Distortion, BxMxC, and PAPAYA were performed with various different gimmicks and choreography.

4. Isyana Sarasvati Joins the Moshing!

And the climax, the audience created a WALL OF DEATH and moshed together as BABYMETAL performed Road of Resistance and the closing song Ijime Dame Zettai.

What's even more unique is that among the VIPs, there was a familiar face; Isyana Sarasvati. Even in her IG story post, the singer of Unlock The Key was seen moshing with The One in the middle of the mosh pit. Awesome!

The calls for 'ENCORE' and 'WE WANT MORE' echoed for several minutes after SU, MOA and MOMO left the stage. Unfortunately, there were no additional performances on that occasion.

Around 10:00 PM, the audience left the venue in an orderly manner. The happy expressions on their faces were so real because they had been able to see their idol up close.

Overall, the BABYMETAL World Tour in Jakarta 2023 concert was so epic and fantastic. Although there were minor shortcomings such as a relatively small stage and less than optimal sound, the experience gained was still so extraordinary and unforgettable.
