Badai Sends Open Letter of Complaint to Music Label Over Song 'I STILL LOVE YOU' Sung by Rayen Pono

Unpleasant news comes from the renowned musician, Doadibadai Hollo or more commonly known as Badai. The former keyboardist of Kerispatih has openly expressed his disappointment towards PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia, the label that oversees his song titled I Still Love You, which is popularly performed by Rayen Pono.

This issue began when Badai found that his name as the songwriter was missing from various digital music platforms. The creator of the song Tak Lekang Oleh Waktu explained that he created the song in 2016 at the direct request to be sung by Rayen Pono.

Badai was surprised that after years, the commercially exploited work did not credit him as the main creator. He revealed the chronology of how the song was created."So I want to explain first, that previously in 2016, I was asked to create a song that would be sung by one of the singers in Indonesia, namely Rayen Pono," said Badai at Al Barkat Carpet, Fatmawati, South Jakarta, Monday (28/7/2025).

"In 2016, I created a song titled 'I Still Love You' which was released under PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia, and then the song was exploited by PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia on several digital platforms such as Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music," Badai added.

This anomaly was first discovered about a month ago while he was organizing his song catalog on a digital platform. How surprised Badai was to see the name Rayen Pono listed as the creator of the song, an action that clearly violates his moral rights as a composer. With a firm tone, he explained his discovery that triggered this issue.

"While re-inventorying all my songs that have been exploited in the music industry, I found that my song titled 'I Still Love You' sung by Rayen Pono and exploited by PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia on several digital platforms, did not list my name as the creator, but instead listed Rayen Pono as the creator of the song," he said.

Feeling that his rights were ignored, Badai, through his lawyer from Minola Sebayang & Partners, has sent two formal notices. However, the response from the label was considered very slow and only emerged after Badai took the initiative to personally seek contact with the relevant parties. The bespectacled man recounted his efforts to gain clarity.

"The first formal notice was sent on June 19, 2025, but there was no response from PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia. The second notice was sent on July 4, 2025, and only received a response on July 7, 2025. That response only came after I contacted my friend, Mike Mohede's former manager, who used to be called Mas Indra. I casually asked, where is the office of Halo Entertainment? Because I felt that maybe the address of the first formal notice was incorrect," he explained.

After successfully communicating, the label acknowledged the oversight and promised to conduct a check. Nevertheless, Badai feels that this issue cannot be taken lightly, considering that the mistake occurred on three major platforms, namely Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Spotify. According to him, this indicates a serious negligence on the part of the label.

"A few days later, I was contacted by someone from Halo Entertainment Indonesia, namely Mr. Bombom, via WhatsApp, and it turns out the response said that they would check, would check whether there was a mistake or not, and they had made an oversight regarding that action," said Badai.

Until now, Badai is still waiting for good faith from PT Halo Entertainment Indonesia to resolve this issue thoroughly. He emphasized that this press conference is a form of an open summons so that his rights as a song creator can be fulfilled in accordance with the applicable Copyright Law.
