Because of Listening to The Beatles Song, Mezzaluna Bimbim Slank's Daughter Releases "Setting Up the Phone Call"

Kapanlagi.com - The beautiful singer Mezzaluna has released her latest single titled Setting Up the Phone Call. This is Mezzaluna's fourth single after entering the Indonesian music industry. Previously, the daughter of Bimbim Slank had released three singles, namely In Situ, In Situ Remix, I Beg and You Should Know.

Mezzaluna tells the story behind the making of the song Setting Up the Phone Call. Mezzaluna said that the song was created when she was listening to one of The Beatles' songs.

“This song is really experimental in its writing, at that time I was often listening to The Beatles and then I thought it was cool that they could use anything as material to write songs, so that's what I did," said Mezzaluna, recently.

Still under the auspices of OFFMUTE, a sub-label of Sony Music Entertainment, Mezzaluna explained that the song Setting Up the Phone Call tells about her going out at night with friends. Then, the lyrics describe all the events from when she got in the car to the destination.

“It's really like writing fiction, it's a new experience where I realize that writing song lyrics can come from any form and from anywhere," said Mezzaluna.

Mezzaluna's new single can now be listened to on all digital music platforms. Mezzaluna, or Jaya Mezzaluna Bungari, is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter who debuted in early 2021 as the first Indonesian artist to join the regional label established by Sony Music Entertainment, OFFMUTE.

Mezzaluna's deep, husky, and soulful vocals, as well as her personal storytelling style, bring maturity and wisdom to her music. Making her a promising new alternative pop genre entrant in the local music scene.

Mezzaluna grew up in a music-loving family as the daughter of Indonesian rock star, Bimbim, the drummer of the band Slank. Learning piano and guitar since childhood, led her to create her own music at the age of 15.

Beyond her father's big name, Mezzaluna has always been humble and independent in developing her taste and musical style, leading her to become the musician she is today.
