Singer Budi Doremi has released his latest religious single titled Ramadhan Penuh Cinta. This is the first time for him to write a song with the theme of Ramadhan.
When met at Kapanlagi Youniverse, Central Jakarta, on Monday (25/3), Budi Doremi explained that this song carries a strong Malay theme.
This was done because he wanted to bring the nuance of the 90s Ramadan.
"We embrace the Malay concept, the model is classic Malay and the result is quite satisfying because when it reaches the heart and ears of the listeners, they feel the atmosphere of Ramadan in the 90s," said Budi Doremi.
However, Budi Doremi still feels pressure when working on this song. Because he doesn't want to cross the line as a singer.
The boundary that is meant is that Budi doesn't want to imply excessive messages in the song Ramadhan Penuh Cinta. In order to do this, Budi Doremi even consulted with local religious scholars or leaders.
"I'm afraid of crossing the line because I was entrusted by my parents that everyone has their own expertise, and we shouldn't just take them without thinking. And here I am aware that as a musician, I can only play on the surface," he said.
"(Consult with scholars?) Yes, it must be done and it's safe to say so," he added.
In addition, Budi Doremi also has hopes for his first Ramadan single. He hopes that in the future, his children can tell their grandchildren that he once created a song for this holy and blessed month.
"Hopefully, this song becomes a monument for our family. If my children remember when I'm no longer here, they can tell my grandchildren that their father once made a song for Ramadan," he concluded.
