Kapanlagi.com - The reggae group Coconut Treez will hold a prayer together to commemorate the anniversary and the four years since the passing of their vocalist, Steven Nugraha Kaligis, also known as Tepenk. This event will be held like in previous years with their loyal fans, Kawanan.
"We are not organizing an event or gigs in the form of In Memoriam, we are just holding a prayer together," said Palo.
After Steven's passing, the vocal position is now filled by his biological brother, Alvons "Apong" Freedom. He was chosen because he received a direct mandate from the late Steven before he passed away. Apong was previously known as a musician who had a career with the band Ikan Bakar and as a solo artist.
Apong is considered suitable to fill the vocalist position because he has a vocal character and style that fits the music color of Coconut Treez. This decision was also agreed upon by Tege (guitar), Palo (bass), Gocay (drums), and Iwanouz (keyboards) as the other members.
"This year marks the 20th anniversary of Coconut Treez, we plan to complete the album and create a concert in collaboration with many parties and musicians (the line-up is still confidential). God willing, after Eid al-Fitr we will be running," concluded Palo.
They hope Coconut Treez remains solid and continues to create in reggae music. Fans are also expected to continue supporting the journey of this band in the future.
