Collaborating with Nur Bayan in Her Second Single, Dianna Dee Switches from Pop to Dangdut Genre

Kapanlagi.com - Successfully releasing their debut single titled Warna Warna by Dewiq and Pay in early 2020, now singer Dianna Dee Starlight is preparing to release their second single titled Angel Wes Angel by Nur Bayan.

However, in this second single, they are trying a new style, from the previous pop genre to DanceDhut.

"Compared to the first single, there are many differences. In the first single, I sang a pop song, but in the second single, I tried singing a 'DanceDhut' song," explained the singer who is popular as a celebrity on social media, when met during the video clip shooting in the Bintaro area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (15/12/2020).

1. Meet Many Challenges

Changing direction in music is acknowledged by Dianna as a lot of challenges that she has to go through in the process of working on her second single. Not to mention, the lyrics of this second single use Javanese language.

"There are many challenges during the making of this second single, because I have to speak fluent Javanese language that is in the lyrics of the song. Besides, I also have to know the meaning so that I can embody it. Meanwhile, I am from Manado," added the owner of the real name Diana Sofian Melo.

2. Collaborating with Nur Bayan

Nur Bayan, who was also present in the process of making the music video, agreed. As the songwriter, Nur Bayan is responsible for teaching Diana how to pronounce the lyrics correctly.

"Honestly, for Dianna this is a challenge of its own, considering she is not Javanese, I have to teach her how to pronounce Javanese language. Besides, I also have to explain the meaning, so that Dianna can embody it according to the desired song," explained Nur Bayan.

3. Unveiling the Meaning of the Song

In addition, this man from Kediri, East Java also explains the meaning or story behind the lyrics in the song Angel Wes Angel.

"The lyrics of this song tell the story of a girl who is tired of her boyfriend's difficult-to-advice behavior. Finally, the girl gets annoyed, angel angel, which is hard to express in Javanese. So, the annoyance is expressed in a song," explained Nur Bayan.

4. Currently Viral

The phrase "Angel Wes Angel" has recently gone viral, is there any connection to this song? Nur Bayan also explained.

"Yes, it is currently viral. So, we made a song from what is widely heard by the public. We incorporated it into the lyrics, and then we collaborated to create a song that can be enjoyed," he explained.

Singing Javanese songs is actually not new for Dianna, because when there are off-air events, she often performs Javanese songs, although they can be a bit challenging.

"Javanese songs can be easy and difficult. I often sing Javanese songs during off-air events. But when it comes to recording, the pronunciation must be accurate, and I must also understand the meaning. So, I have to learn from Mas Nur Bayan," added Dianna Dee.

Like her first single, for this second single, Dianna Dee still entrusts Nagaswara label owned by Rahayu Kertawiguna for its distribution. She hopes that Angel Wes Angel can be accepted by the wider community.
