Collaboration of Siblings, Alika and Kalya Islamadina Release Duet Song 'Kisah Yang Sama'

Kapanlagi.com - The melodious siblings who are often labeled sibling goals by netizens, Alika and Kalya Islamadina, have finally released a collaboration. On September 1, 2023, Alika and Kalya released a duet song titled Kisah Yang Sama.

This song is their dedication to their parents, Yuanita Rohali and Pramono Dewo, with music and lyrics created by the younger sister, Kalya Islamadina. Kisah Yang Sama is also a gift for their parents' 30th wedding anniversary.

"This song is about the perspective of a child who grows up seeing their parents falling in love repeatedly. So, in this song, Kalya and I tell how important it is to have parents who love each other in a household for their children," Alika explained the meaning behind the song.

"Dad and mom have been friends since they were in the same class in 7th grade and finally became a couple when they were in the same class again in 10th grade. So, mom and dad's love story is quite long and often told to us," added Alika.

1. Inspired by Everyday Stories

Kalya was inspired to express what they see in their parents' everyday lives through a sweet, touching, and melodious song.

Alika and Kalya collaborated in 2021 on Alika's single titled Reasons to Fall in Love which was also created by Kalya. The difference was that Kalya did not sing in it.

“In the last one, I was only the songwriter. Now, in the song Kisah Yang Sama, I not only wrote it but also sang in it. It's also a coincidence that I have been releasing some of my singles since last year. So, I thought why not make a duet for the song Kisah Yang Sama,” said the winner of the 2019 Favorite Cover Girl.

Unlike her older sister, Kalya started her music career by releasing the single Eyesmile in 2022 and her second single titled 23 (Too Deep, Too Much) last June.

As for Alika, she started her involvement in the music industry earlier after participating in the talent search event AFI Junior and subsequently releasing 2 albums, My Secret Room (2015) and Perfect Moment (2018). Alika added a fun fact that the male voice at the end of the song Kisah Yang Sama is her younger brother named Mahesa's voice.

“I invited him [Mahesa] to contribute his voice to make it more evident that this song is indeed a dedication to our parents from all of their children,” said the influencer whose fashion taste often receives praise from netizens.
