Combine Unique Elements of Music Genre, Virdi Imagines Film Story into New Song 'Pesona'

Kapanlagi.com - The Indonesian music scene is once again adorned with the presence of an interesting new solo musician, KLovers. This young soloist is named Mohamad Firdaus Firdi and is known by the stage name Virdi. 

Prior to pursuing a solo career, Virdi was already actively involved in music as part of a band formed in 2016. Now, he continues his journey as a solo singer with the support of Didi Music label, KLovers.

This 26-year-old singer has also released his latest single titled Pesona. Together with Kapanlagi.com, Virdi shares the inspiration process behind the song Pesona.

Virdi revealed that the song 'Pesona' that he wrote was inspired by a movie, KLovers. "Initially, I watched a movie that tells a story about a scene where the guy likes a girl, but fails. Then they meet again in another universe with that girl. And he falls in love with that girl in that universe. So, I thought, why not turn it into a song, 'Pesona'," said Virdi.

The process of creating the lyrics and melody for the song 'Pesona' is based on imagination and mood at that time. Virdi revealed that creativity flows more easily spontaneously, rather than trying to force certain elements into the song.

"The process is more about imagination and mood. It's difficult to intentionally create music and intonation. It's better to be spontaneous," said Virdi.

For two to three months, Virdi involved himself in the song production process, including finalizing the lyrics and melody. At this stage, Virdi felt that the 'breakdown' part of the song was still not fully mature. However, thanks to collaboration with Didi Music, the song Pesona is finally ready to be enjoyed by listeners.

"Two to three months. The song, it had a breakdown, like the lyrics were not finished, I was not satisfied, and finally I met Didi Music and the song was released," he said.

The song Pesona is Virdi's debut single after officially joining Didi Music. Virdi also shared the story of how he joined the label that currently houses several musicians, such as Closehead, For Revenge, and Febi Islami.

"Initially, I met Kang Aji from Didi Music, we talked and shared ideas, and finally decided to collaborate. There was no complicated process," he said.

3. The Concept of Virdi's Song "Pesona"

Previously, Virdi has released three songs independently. When asked about the difference between Pesona and his previous songs, Virdi explained that the concept of the song still remains in the direction of pop and R&B.

"I'm also interested in listening to Korean music, more towards Asian RnB. I also like metal music, so I combine the vibe and ambiance, the dark elements, and put them into a pop song concept," he said.

With that, the song Pesona presents a deep experience that combines unique elements from various music genres. Virdi's fans and music lovers in the country can enjoy the song Pesona which is now available on various digital music platforms.
