Comeback this Year, Div Ivangkia Ready to Realize Mother's Dream

Kapanlagi.com - Long time no hear his voice, singer Div Ivangkia will return to enliven the Indonesian music industry in 2024. After the single Pelajaran Indah in 2021, Div has never released a new single.

The pandemic at that time was acknowledged by Div as one of the reasons he decided to take a break in the Indonesian music industry. But at the same time, he promised to come back with something new someday.

"At that time, there was a pandemic, so it was a bit difficult to promote. At that time, there were PPKM restrictions. So at that time, I surrendered to time but when the moment comes, I will come back with a higher level," said Div when met in the Tebet area some time ago.

"Being silent doesn't mean doing nothing. I made as many songs as possible, so when I want to release them later, I just have to choose which song to release," he continued.

1. A Challenging Journey

Div's journey towards 2024 was not easy. In 2022, his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Div accompanied his mother in her fight against cancer. Eventually, his mother passed away. Undeniably, this also deeply affected him. As known, his mother was his first support in his journey to become a singer.

"In October 2022, my mom got sick with cancer and it really brought me down. From 2022 to 2023, it was a rollercoaster ride. I even sang for G20, but the day before the performance, my mom was diagnosed with cancer, and then she passed away. I was really devastated at that time, I had no motivation to live anymore," he said.

2. Not Willing to Drown in Sadness

Not willing to drown in sadness, Div tried to rise. Through a dream, Div was once again given strength by his late mother.

"I dreamt of my mom. She told me not to be sad, that she is happy now. Chase your dreams and prove that you can, make mom proud," he explained.

3. Future Plans

In 2024, Div will release a duet single with Rio Anantha through the song Lebih Gila. This song has actually been released by Div when he was pursuing a solo career. Not only that, Div is still pursuing his dream of holding a mini concert involving his closest people.

"I really want to create a mini concert by bringing people who have sung my songs before," he concluded.
