Continue the Success of 'Chitty Chitty Bang!', Whisnu Santika Releases Latest Single 'Que Pasa'

Kapanlagi.com - Since 2017, a DJ named Whisnu Santika has enlivened the Indonesian music industry by bringing a quite unique genre, Baile Funk. One of his singles titled Chitty Chitty Bang! (2019) was considered very successful. On that occasion, Whisnu collaborated with Australian singer, Amy B.

This time, Whisnu has created a new work titled Que Pasa. This single is scheduled to be released on Wednesday (7/7) on all digital music platforms. Like Chitty Chitty Bang!, Whisnu will still present the Baile Funk genre with the distinctive urban funk dance music of Brazil.

With limited mobility during the pandemic, Whisnu wants to continue to provide entertainment for the public through his works, including Que Pasa.

Whisnu, who has been involved for 9 years as a DJ and Music Producer, realizes the opportunity to bring a new culture and color to the electronic dance music (EDM) industry in the country. After creating a mix of dance music genres such as dancehall, moombahton, hip hop, bass, afrobeat, funk, and house music, Whisnu wants to continue experimenting with Latin American music, such as Baile Funk, which is a unique urban funk dance music from Brazil, into the Indonesian music scene.

Whisnu himself is inspired by Diplo in combining electronic dance music (EDM) with Latin American music as one of the genres that is still quite popular in Indonesia. Through his works and collaborations, he wants to prove that local music talents can also introduce this genre combination to a wider audience of EDM music enthusiasts with the concept of 'Humanizing Humanity' through the music and new culture he produces.

As a note, Whisnu's single titled Chitty Chitty Bang! has become viral among music lovers. Although there are not many DJs in the country who work with similar genres, Whisnu sees this as an opportunity to reach a younger target market.

"Millennial and Gen-Z generations are now accustomed to genre mash-ups, ranging from a mix of hip-hop, R&B, house, and even Latin music. Latin music itself has a strong color. With an upbeat tempo, catchy percussion beats, it becomes relevant to electronic music specifically aimed at accompanying Indonesian people's activities and can also become a motivating vibration in people's lives up to this day. This is my main drive to create new music culture in Indonesia, because through these works, I can educate about new genres," said Whisnu.
