Dnanda Anugerah Shares Personal Experience of Being Cheated on in the Single 'Salah Memilih'

Kapanlagi.com - Although he failed to become the champion of Indonesian Idol 2021, Dnanda Anugerah's career in the Indonesian music industry is apparently thriving. After introducing the single Tak Sekedar Cinta on March 26, 2021, now the man with a vocal tone similar to Once is back with his latest single titled Salah Memilih.

Still carrying the power ballad genre, Dnanda's second single is released under the label Dua Anak Deo (DAD) owned by Judika in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia. The song Salah Memilih was written by Dnanda himself based on his personal experience.

"Yes, this song is inspired by a love story that I recently experienced. I had a partner at that time, but the situation didn't go as expected. However, I tried to remain productive in any situation, and that's how this song was born," said the man born in Dumai, April 15, 1999, in a press release received by KapanLagi.com.

1. New Challenges for Dnanda Anugerah

Although the production of Salah Memilih was done in the midst of a pandemic, Dnanda is grateful because there were no significant obstacles.

"The difficult part may be managing the time of the team working on this single, which made the process take a little longer. But, finally, this single is finished and ready to be listened to by music lovers throughout Indonesia," she added briefly.

The single Salah Memilih feels even more special because it is also self-produced by Dnanda. This is a very new challenge for her.

"Being the producer of my own single is a challenge for me. I have to think about what treatment is suitable for this song, especially the selection of arrangements, sound, and session players. Session players are important to me because they can add life to the arrangements I have made. In essence, I try to ensure that everything in this single has character, from the notation, vocals, to the music, so that listeners have diverse experiences when listening to this song," Dnanda continued.

2. Inspired by 90s Western Hits Songs

Salah Memilih for Dnanda is a form of his love for power ballad music. Apparently, the composition of this song was inspired by the Western hits songs from the 90s.

"If asked to describe, in my opinion, this is a pop song with a not fast tempo, carrying the ballad music genre, but has a punch. Previously, I played in the pop rock genre, but this time, I tried to soften it a bit. For this song, I was inspired by Western songs from the 80s and 90s, like Chicago, Air Supply, and even Celine Dion," he said.

3. Dnanda Anugerah's Hope

Salah Memilih can already be enjoyed on various digital platforms since February 14, 2022. Dnanda also hopes that his works will continue to be enjoyed by music lovers in the future.

"I also hope that the change from pop rock to power ballad can bring a new color to my music, liked by many people, and can become a monumental song for the Indonesian music industry. This is not just a hope, but also my plan for the future. I want to be able to bring change and trends for Indonesian music practitioners and listeners, besides, of course, having albums and many hit songs," concluded Dnanda.
