Elkasih Band Entrusts Nagaswara to Manage the Copyright of Their 13 Songs

Kapanlagi.com - Elkasih band members reunite after the viral story of El Ibnu, the vocalist who suffered a stroke and faced economic difficulties because the royalty rights to their songs were not fulfilled by the label.

After reuniting, the members of Elkasih band struggled to obtain the copyright of the 13 songs they produced in two albums. Although it was not easy, they now ensure that those 13 songs have returned to Elkasih as the rightful owners.

Elkasih then entrusts the publishing rights of those songs under the Nagaswara Publisherindo Musik. This way, the management of those songs and royalties can be clearly provided.

“Finally, we have liberated our group Elkasih, which was once held hostage by parties who did not appreciate our works. Now we have found a label that we can trust and can manage our songs well, which is Nagaswara Music and Publishing,” said El Ari on behalf of his colleagues in Elkasih, on Tuesday (10/11/2020).

1. In the Same Label

El Ari revealed that during Elkasih's hiatus, their album in the old label never received any reports and royalties. However, he and his friends knew that their songs were still generating income from YouTube, iTunes, Joox, and others.

“We never received a single penny of our rights. That's been the problem for 10 to 12 years. Only now are we able to reclaim our rights that were once held hostage,” added Ari.

In the eyes of Nagaswara CEO Rahayu Kertawiguna, the trust given by Elkasih to manage their songs deserves to be respected. The work of musicians is a legacy that will be passed down to their children and grandchildren.

“I appreciate Elkasih's efforts and struggle to obtain their rights to their songs. My hand and Nagaswara's are always open to manage these songs together. Please continue to create, Elkasih, along with Nagaswara,” said Rahayu Kertawiguna.

The Heroes' Day moment is also interpreted by Elkasih as part of their spirit to break free from copyright infringement. The same thing can also be experienced by other bands or musicians.
