Held in 7 Different Venues, Jogja Music Week 2021 Presents a Series of Talented Musicians from the Country

One of them is through the Jogja Music Week (JMW) festival event, which is a space for appreciation and presentation for musicians and young talents in the creative process in the music world.

JMW, which is part of the Pangan Fest 2021, will be held for a week at 7 different coffee shop locations with the concept of Open Gigs stage. Bakkar Wibowo, the founder of JMW, explained the reason behind the selection of the Open Gigs concept, where the new talents and musicians who will perform will get direct experience, as well as intimacy with the audience.

"So, it's not just about musical skills on stage that we get. But we will also gain direct technical ability experience from the stage," explained Bakkar Wibowo, on Wednesday (3/2).

The first series of JMW and the opening of this year will take place in February 2021 in Yogyakarta. Considering that Indonesia is still in a pandemic, JMW will be presented in a tapping on venue format.

"Meaning, it will be premiered through the Jogja Music Week YouTube channel," said Bakkar Wibowo.

JMW as a festival product also opens opportunities for collaboration with other entities, especially those outside of music. Those who have a commitment to the development and growth of the local economy or social movements.

"JMW is expected to become a media partner in cultural branding, tourism branding, city branding, and brand campaigns," emphasized Bakkar Wibowo.

2. Locations and Lineup of Performers at JMW 2021

7 coffee shop spots that will be used as venues for JMW 2021 include SELIMBI RESTO, ZIPPY CAFÉ, LUKSI KOPI, KYOTO GARAGE CAFÉ & KITCHEN, BALAKOSA COFFEE & CO, KANCANE COFFEE, TEA BAR AND RESTO, and WARUNG HERU.

Meanwhile, the performing talents have been carefully curated. As a result, various solo musicians and bands have been confirmed to participate in the JMW 2021 event, such as
Senja, Nona Sepatu Kaca, Putri Ariani, Jono Terbakar, Bemandry, Olski, Holapisca, Perahu Karet, Mahijadedi X GNTZ, Mitty Zasia, Fayrush, Archiblues, Megantoro, Jasmine Eletkrik, Korekayu, NOK37, and also The Anwar.
