Neil Peart was a drummer from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. From a young age, he showed great talent in playing the drums. As a teenager, he began playing with various local bands to hone his skills.

In mid-1974, Peart finally joined the Toronto-based band, Rush. At that time, he replaced drummer John Rutsey, who left the band. Two weeks after joining, Peart immediately participated in Rush's American tour.

Peart's drumming skills were extraordinary. He often combined rock and jazz drumming styles in his performances. In 1983, he was inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame, becoming the youngest person ever to receive that award.

In an interview in December 2015, Peart announced that he would retire from music due to his illness. And in January 2018, the band Rush officially disbanded.
