'Never Leave Me' Judika's Latest Duet Song with a Blind Person

Kapanlagi.com - For Judika fans, it seems very happy, because he has just released his latest single entitled 'Never Leave Me', on Thursday (21/4/2022). Not alone, in this song, the Indonesian Idol singer duets with a blind person named Nurlela, a resident of the Social Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities (PRPSD) in Bandung, West Java.

The song 'Never Leave Me' was released by Judika on his label, DAD (Dua Anak Deo). Judika's wife, Duma Riris Silalahi, explained how many miracles she felt when bringing Nurlela.

"Actually, yes, this project was not initially thought of at all but it seems that God made it so colorful. Disabled people like Nurlela, she cannot describe something with her eyes or movements, but with her heart," said Duma in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta, Thursday (21/4/2022)

Furthermore, Judika considers Nurlela to be a singer with a distinctive voice and character. Even during the recording process, Judika admitted that he didn't want to eliminate Nurlela's unique voice character.

"When she sings, it can even feel deeper than usual. This project may not stop here. But it will continue, and for DAD, it could open up other opportunities for disabled people to create," added Duma.

2. Not Wanting to Remove the Distinctive Characteristics

Judika revealed that Nurlela initially liked dangdut songs, songs by Rhoma Irama, and Elvy Sukaesih. During the recording, Judika didn't want Nurlela to eliminate those characteristics.

"Her voice, her inflection, they said they had to be eliminated. But I said no, that's her distinctive characteristic. She sings in her own way, and that's what makes her stand out," said Judika.

3. Involvement of Erick Thohir

What's even more special is that in the song Tak Pernah Tinggalkanku, Judika also involved Erick Thohir. The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises appeared in the music video of the song while reading a letter from a person with disabilities.

"It's a source of pride that a Minister could be a model in a music video for the first time," Judika concluded.

4. Hoping to be an Inspiration

Meanwhile, Erick Thohir also hopes that Judika's latest song duet with Nurlela can be an inspiration for people with disabilities in Indonesia.

"Hopefully, this collaboration is a symbol of how dreams can meet and I hope Nurlela inspires people with disabilities in Indonesia who may feel inadequate today," concluded Erick Thohir.
