Kapanlagi.com - Pop punk music group Rocket Rockers has just released their seventh album titled The Good Flight. This is Rocket Rockers' debut album after their guitarist, Lowp, left in 2018.
“Yes, this is our first album as a trio, not just Blink 182. It just happened that we released it at the same time as Blink, it's a perfect timing,” said Aska while laughing during a visit to the Kapanlagi Youniverse office, on Monday (6/11/2023).
Aska, the vocalist of Rocket Rockers, talked about the process of making the album which consists of seven songs. Just like their previous six albums, Aska said The Good Flight was also made during the month of Ramadan.
"The album was made very quickly. Rocket Rockers already have seven albums, and we worked on all of them during the fasting month. Why? Just to save money," said Aska.
For Aska, The Good Flight album was made very quickly. In fact, Aska said it was the fastest album to be produced.
"This album was made the fastest, we worked intensively for two months. The songs are also based on my personal experiences, what I see, what I feel, I expressed them in those two months," he said.
The Good Flight album consists of seven new songs, and there is one single made in an acoustic version titled 'Anggap Mati'. According to Aska, the song provides an alternative for listeners who want to hear Rocket Rockers in an acoustic version other than 'Ingin Hilang Ingatan'.
"Those who want an alternative when they want to hear Rocket Rockers acoustic, it's not always 'Ingin Hilang Ingatan.' So, there are options," said Aska.
The Good Flight album also feels special for the band group consisting of Aska (guitar and vocals), Bisma (bass), and Ozom (drums). This is because the album was worked on together with their two additional players, Samuel (guitar) and Yogi (keyboard). According to Bisma, thanks to their two additional players, the songs on The Good Flight album feel fresher.
"It's quite special for us to be helped by the producer and to have our music arrangements worked on by our additional players, Samuel and Yogi, who are newer and fresher. So the music feels much younger, not the people. Haha. Samuel and Yogi help us and they are much younger than us," said Bisma.
As the name suggests, The Good Flight, through this album Rocket Rockers wants to fly even higher even though there are only three personnel.
"This proves that Rocket Rockers with the latest formation, there are three people ready to take off again. Hopefully, we will have a pleasant flight," he concluded.
