Kapanlagi.com - In the digital era like today, it is rare for musicians or bands to release albums and only release singles. But not for Qodir, a band formed by Dul Jaelani that released an album titled SERIBU BULAN which contains 9 songs.
The band, led by Dul Jaelani, Muhammad Xaviar, Deriel Sudiro, and Axel CB, has a reason why they did not release a single in their debut in the music industry.
"Because in this current industry, there are many YouTubers, TikTokers who are also musicians. So how can we stand out? We could release a song tomorrow, but we feel like our privacy is gone because of the ease. So we decided to make an album. Musicians are judged by their albums," said the third child of Ahmad Dhani when met in the SCBD area, South Jakarta, on Monday (16/5).
Dul Jaelani said that Qodir Band is just a name transformation. The band, which was formed by Maia Estianty's son in 2013 with the name Backdoor.
"In my opinion, Qodir has more or less the same spirit as Backdoor. But with a new spirit and a broader vision. In 2021, we recorded again, so we can say that we are new and old at the same time," said Dul Jaelani.
Like most young people, Qodir raises a theme in the album that has been released since April 22, 2022, related to teenage life wrapped in rock music.
"From the theme, Qodir raises social issues that occur in teenage children today such as teenage anxiety, freedom of expression, rebellion, aspirations, social media unrest to mental health problems," explained Dul Jaelani.
One of the songs titled Sakit Cinta tells about someone who experiences depression and mental disorders because of falling in love.
"Indeed, I want to peel back the side of the life of young people today that is full of dynamics and romance," said Dul Jaelani.
Of course, Dul Jaelani hopes that the album containing the songs Sakit Cinta, Aku Butuh Dia, Cakrawala, Penyihir, Duniaku, Mungkin Nanti, Menangis di Pelukanmu, Hey and Sakral can be accepted by music lovers in Indonesia.
"Hopefully we can create a new music curriculum in the music industry. We can learn together to better understand music," concluded Dul Jaelani.
