Pasto Comeback with New Personnel, Ready to Continue the Baton Relay from Their Predecessors

Kapanlagi.com - KLovers still remember Pasto? The vocal group, founded in 2002, has made many contributions to the Indonesian music industry, although recently their presence has been less heard.

After experiencing several changes in personnel, Pasto now comes with a new format, namely a duo under the Pelangi Records label. The members are siblings Sion and Rohan Simbolon. Sion himself is not a new name in the Indonesian music industry. He is a former contestant of the talent search show Idola Cilik season one.

Before Rohan joined Pasto, Sion had previously collaborated with Jason Gunawan. At that time, the duet of Sion and Jason had produced several singles such as Aku Tak Sempurna and Terbaik Untukku. However, in the end, Jason decided to leave.

"So initially I was contacted by Pasto's management, 'Has Sion been signed with a label? If not, we are currently looking for new personnel for Pasto'. I replied that I haven't, and we met that night. I thought it was an audition, but it turned out it wasn't because they already knew," Sion recalled.

Now Jason's departure made Pasto have to look for new members again. Sion then recommended his younger brother, Rohan, to be a duet partner.

"I recommend Rohan, but the label needs to see if he is suitable or not with Sion. When checked, their singing was good and harmonious, then they made a contract with Rohan and finally released the single Kisah Kasih di Sekolah," continued Sion.

2. The Heavy Burden

This new version of Pasto is clearly different from the previous ones. Sion and Rohan bring a fresh and contemporary musical atmosphere to capture the hearts of music listeners.

Carrying the great name of Pasto is definitely a heavy burden. However, these siblings duo are confident that they can continue the legacy entrusted by their predecessors.

"Everyone knows the quality of Pasto, the works of Pasto, even before we were offered to join Pasto, we already knew because we were also fans of their work. So we are ready and continue to maintain the quality of Pasto with a new touch," said Sion.

"Yes, it's definitely a heavy burden because we have to maintain the quality of Pasto from the past to the present. We maintain their quality but we believe we can do it," Rohan concluded optimistically.
