Bringing an Anti-Mainstream Concert, Dewa 19 Successfully Shakes Surabaya City

Ahmad Dhani and others successfully entertained their fans in Jakarta during the Pesta Rakyat 30 Tahun Dewa 19 on February 4, 2023, and now they have chosen Surabaya as the opening city that they are ready to shake with nostalgic songs from the 90s era. But, this is not an ordinary concert. They collaborate with the Indonesian Philharmonic Orchestra.

Amidst the onslaught of outdoor concerts, this time Dewa 19 chose to perform their music inside a building, precisely at the Convention Hall Grand City Surabaya on May 19-20, 2023. Some people may regret this, however, Dewa 19 still believes that true fans will always support wherever their concert is held.

And it's true, Klovers. Although priced from Rp 1.1 million to Rp 1.6 million, all tickets were sold out. The atmosphere inside the venue was lively but still conducive because there were assigned seats for everyone.

1. Elegant Orchestra Concept

There is a price, there is a form. Perhaps that is an analogy that can describe this concert. How not, thousands of pairs of eyes and ears were pampered by a combination of luxury vibes, starting from a venue situation full of glittering gold and red carpet to the orchestral music that may still be rarely used by all domestic musicians.

Not only that, the audience is required to wear a dress code of tuxedo/shirt, dark suit/batik shirt, and dress shoes (for men) as well as dresses/long dresses and high heels (for women). Can you imagine how elegant it is, Klovers?

2. Collaboration with Other Famous Musicians

In addition to the unique venue concept, the performance of the songs is also extraordinary, Klovers. Instead of performing all the songs themselves, Dewa 19 chose to collaborate with several musicians whose vocal style is suitable for each of their songs.

There are Virzha and Ello, who have a distinctive husky voice, suitable for performing songs like "Selimut Hati", "Risalah Hati", "Roman Picisan", "Aku Milikmu", and "Arjuna". Of course, Ari Lasso also performed with his melancholic vocals, suitable for pop songs like "Elang" and "Cinta 'kan Membawamu Kembali".

In addition to featuring, Dewa 19 also brought 2 Guest Stars who were equally stunning, namely Mulan Jameela with "Cinta Mati III" and "Sedang Ingin Bercinta" and Andien with "Pupus". It can be said that Dewa 19 made no mistake in choosing, right? The concert was closed with the song "Kangen" performed by all the musicians. It was deeply moving and of course, explosive!

Although the ticket price is quite high, Dewa 19 successfully rocked the night in Surabaya with nostalgia vibes and elegance. Super worth it!
