Recycling the Song 'Sekali Ini Saja', Rossa Feels Guided by the Late Glenn Fredly During the Recording Process

Kapanlagi.com - Singer Rossa released a new single titled Sekali Ini Saja. Her latest work is a remake of the late Glenn Fredly's song that was released since 2003.

Since last year, Rossa had plans to recycle the songs of the late Glenn Fredly. However, she was confused about choosing the right song until a friend suggested the song Sekali Ini Saja.

"Since last year, I wanted to recycle Glenn's song, but at that time I was thinking about which song to choose. After searching, my friend suggested Sekali Ini Saja. It's really suitable for my voice," said Rossa during a virtual press conference via Zoom on Friday (15/4).

During the recording process, Rossa felt guided by the late Glenn Fredly. She felt given freedom so that even when singing, she felt released.

"Whenever I sing Glenn's song just for fun, I always end up singing it in his style. But during the recording yesterday, I felt like Glenn gave me space to sing in my own version. I don't know how to explain it, but I felt released," said the 34-year-old woman.

2. Crying After Recording

Rossa admitted that she is someone who easily cries. During the recording process of Sekali Ini Saja, she didn't cry, but after it was finished, her tears burst out.

"It's weird, because I'm a crybaby, I cry easily. But when I recorded this song, I didn't feel sad, I just thought about singing, recording, and that's it, I felt like I was singing my own song. After it was finished, when I sat down, that's when I cried," said Rossa.

3. Career Together with Glenn

Glenn Fredly is not a stranger to Rossa. Because they both started their careers in the music industry at the same time, and grew up at the same time too.

"My career grew together with Glenn's, because when I debuted, he also debuted. We grew up in the same era in terms of age, music, and career. Glenn is like a part of my life," explained the mother of one.
