Release of 'Selamat Jalan Kekasihku' by Elfa Secioria, Andien: This is a Heritage Song

Kapanlagi.com - Andien has released her latest work through a single titled Selamat Jalan Kekasihku (Goodbye, My Love). This song is a creation of the late Elfa Secioria, who is also Andien's first music producer. Meanwhile, Ifa Fachir was entrusted with arranging the song.

"The song Selamat Jalan Kekasihku is actually a relatively old song. I first knew this song in 1999 when the late Elfa entrusted it to me to perform at the Shanghai Music Festival, specifically the Shanghai Asia New Singer Competition. I hadn't even recorded at that time, but I was trusted to sing there and won," said Andien during a press conference at Flix Cinema, Ashta District 8, South Jakarta, on Friday (28/5).

1. Celebrating 21 Years of Artistry

This song also celebrates 21 years of his career in the Indonesian music industry. He wants to express his gratitude to the people who have contributed to his career journey.

"This year marks my 21st year in the industry, and I feel like I should say thank you because in any case, it is the process that has allowed me to survive until today, and I feel that memories of him can strengthen me until now," he said.

2. The Song Heritage

Andien also mentioned that the song Selamat Jalan Kekasihku is a heritage from the late Elfa Secioria because it has never been recorded in audio form before.

"I think this song is a heritage because it's the only song of his that has never been professionally recorded in audio form," said Andien.

3. Made into a Short Film

The song Selamat Jalan Kekasihku has also been made into a short film with the same title. Andien entrusted her friend, Tompi, to direct the short film and music video for this song. Through this song and short film, Andien invites listeners to appreciate the time they have now.

"Selamat Jalan Kekasihku is about how we accept the feeling of letting go. I once asked the late Elfa what this song is actually about. Then he said that it was created for his sister, who was my friend, who died in a plane crash," she concluded.

The short film for the song Selamat Jalan Kekasihku can be watched on Andien Aisyah's YouTube channel on May 31, 2021. Meanwhile, the song can be enjoyed on digital music platforms starting from June 4, 2021.
