Kapanlagi.com - Indonesians idolize foreign singers, isn't that normal? But there is an old band group from Canada, one of The Moffats members turns out to be a fan of Afgan.
The Moffats themselves were once popular in the 90s and 2000s with their hit song Miss You Like Crazy. As time went by, news from the band group consisting of four siblings was no longer heard.
Dave Moffats said that even though they are no longer together as The Moffats, he and the other three members are still brothers. In addition, Dave, who is currently in Indonesia, admires the music industry in the country.
According to Dave, there are many cool things happening in the music scene in Indonesia. Even the 38-year-old man has a favorite singer, Afgan.
"I think there are many good things happening here in music. There's something cool happening here. We know Indonesia has many singers with different genres of music like blues, jazz music packaged like 70s music. It's like going back to that time, I think it's really good and I'm happy to be in Indonesia which is very different from America," said Dave Moffats when met in the Pancoran area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday night (8/3).
According to Dave, Indonesian musicians have their own distinctive characteristics in each of their works. Therefore, seeing the works of each musician who has significant differences, Dave greatly appreciates it.
"Actually, there are many that I like, but my favorite is Afgan. I think he really has a beautiful voice, there are too many unique talents here," he continued.
"I really appreciate the authenticity of Indonesian music. Many people from other countries do not maintain the authenticity of their music style, I think that is disappointing," he said.
