Senior Musician Tono Supartono Makes a Comeback with Single 'Sang Bidadari' Collaborating with Andi Rianto

Kapanlagi.com - Senior singer, Tono Supartono was once very popular in the late 70s because of his song titled Keagungan Tuhan (The Greatness of God). The song, sung by Eddy Silitonga, became a hit in the Lomba Cipta Lagu Remaja Prambors (Prambors Youth Song Creation Competition) in 1978.

After decades of hiatus from the entertainment world due to his business ventures, Tono has decided to make a comeback with the single Sang Bidadari (The Angel) which is included in the mini album of the same title. He is not alone, in the production of the single, Tono is directly assisted by the renowned composer in the country and his friend, Andi Rianto.

Sang Bidadari was initially a spontaneous idea that emerged in the midst of Tono's boredom during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Amazingly, Tono created the song in just a few hours.

Tono then contacted Andi Rianto to create an orchestral-themed musical arrangement. They were also assisted by the Budapest Scoring Orchestra during the production process.

"We have the Magenta Orchestra, but we can't use our own Magenta Orchestra (due to the pandemic)," Tono said in a press release received by KapanLagi.com.

1. Challenging Recording Process

The pandemic condition prevents Tono and Andi from supervising the recording process directly. The supervision of the recording process has to be done remotely through the mechanism of sending data via email, where Andi Rianto digitally sends the score to Hungary as a reference in the recording process. This is one of the challenges in the making of Sang Bidadari.

However, the complicated process finally feels so worth it when the final work is done. It should be noted that the mixing process of this mini album was done by Tommy P. Utomo, while the mastering was done by Don Bartley (Sydney, Australia).

The single Sang Bidadari is planned to be released on May 20, 2021. The release of this single will also be accompanied by a music video directed by Wahyu Taufani Prialangga, who previously directed Raisa's music video.

From Tono Supartono, we can learn that there is no age limit in creating. Everything can be done if there is willingness and self-belief.
