Shooting Music Video 'Counting Days', Mayangsari Tells the Chronology of the Creation of Melly Goeslaw's Album 'MASTERPIECE'

Kapanlagi.com - Melly Goeslaw's contribution to the music industry in the homeland is unquestionable. Various singles and hit albums have been introduced throughout her music career. In early February, Melly introduced a new album titled MASTERPIECE.

As the name suggests, this album contains a collection of Melly's hit singles re-sung by a series of Indonesian musicians, including Mayangsari who performed the song Counting Days. Today, Saturday (19/2), Mayangsari worked on the music video for her single, which was located at Villa Lago di Como.

"The concept of the music video is about our personalities. The director wants to highlight that Melly is like this, Mayang is like this. So, it's the two of us," said Mayangsari to the media.

Melly never thought of releasing the album MASTERPIECE, until she was finally urged by her friend, Mayangsari. The wife of Bambang Trihatmodjo also told the detailed chronology.

"That initially this project was just a casual conversation between friends, Melly even thought it would just be a joke, it wouldn't happen. Until a friend from the city came and became our label partner, it turned out that the idea of Melly Goeslaw's masterpiece was born. As we all know, who doesn't know Melly's songs," she continued.

Like a chain reaction, Mayangsari's idea received positive responses from various parties. The lineup of public figures involved in this album is not unfamiliar names!

"Even KFC showed interest in making this album, and they were interested in partnering with us. Thus, the concept of Melly Goeslaw's masterpiece was born. As for the selection of singers, the genres vary, that's why we have seniors and newcomers, but it doesn't mean that we limit our thinking, it's not just about the origin. It turns out that in this Masterpiece project, there's Rafathar, Arsy, and also Petra Sihombing, Rizky Febian, Tata Janeta, Reza Artamevia, and even my child sings. So, basically, we're trying to revive Indonesian music, make it more colorful," Mayangsari concluded.
