Kapanlagi.com - Girlsband Cherrybelle returns to the Indonesian music industry. This time, they performed at the SCTV Music Awards 2024. What's interesting is that they appeared with the name Chibi-Chibi.

They performed with the lineup of Kezia Karamoy, Cherly Juno, Margareth Angelina, Stefanny Margaretha, and Jessica Auryn. Cherly Juno is happy because even after changing their name, there are still people who want to invite her and her colleagues in Chibi Chibi to perform.

"We are grateful now because we are invited to reminisce about Cherrybelle's old songs and we are present with a new name, which is Chibi Chibi," said Cherly Juno at Studio 6 Emtek City, West Jakarta, on Tuesday (14/5/2024).

1. Leave the Name Cherrybelle

Cherly then explained the reason for changing the name from Cherrybelle to Chibi-Chibi even with the old personnel formation.

"So the story is long. Cherrybelle belongs to the management. Well, because we are no longer affiliated with the management, we each..." she said.

Meanwhile, for the selection of the name Chibi Chibi, Cherly said that the name was taken from the slogan commonly uttered when Cherrybelle was performing.

2. Quite Different

"So we chose it as our identity from ancient times. Cherrybelle is Chibi Chibi, so we remind that we are still present, the old Cherrybelle, now as Chibi-Chibi," she said.

Other Chibi-Chibi personnel, Kezia Karamoy added that their appearance then and now is quite different, considering that the majority of Chibi Chibi members now have children.

"To be out of breath, it's quite good. Because we haven't performed together for a long time. Thank God we can show the best," Kezia Karamoy concluded.

In addition to the five of them, there are two other definite members of Chibi Chibi, namely Novi Herlina and Christy.
