Starrducc Indie Pop from Indonesia Releases Exclusively with a Japanese Label

Kapanlagi.com - After releasing two EP collections, Starrducc and Starrducc II in 2023, Starrducc has now successfully caught the attention of one of the major labels in Japan.

This year, the two EP collections of Starrducc are being re-released exclusively in Japan by P-Vine Records under the title Introducction, marking the first vinyl release for Starrducc.

Interestingly, the import quota for Starrducc's vinyl to Indonesia sold out within a week after pre-orders opened. The vinyl, featuring a special Obi-Strip, has attracted fans and collectors eager to own this physical release.

1. Origin of Bogor

Starrducc is a pop band from the city of Bogor, led by members of The Jansen, Adji and Bani, along with Mirakei, a jazz solo singer from Lombok who previously collaborated with The Jansen to release the single Planetarium. Then there are Andreas and Daniel, who complete the solid formation of Starrducc.

Starting from a cassette distributed to a record store in Japan, Starrducc is now exclusively released by a major Japanese label called P-Vine Records. This label, which has been established since 1976, has released several international renowned bands/singers such as Alvvays, Beach Fossils, Hazel English, Vansire, and others.

2. Unexpected

"Initially, two EP cassette collections of Starrducc released in Indonesia were distributed to the To’morrow Records store in Japan. Then, we provided the latest material from Starrducc to the store owner and received news that they liked it and offered to release the entire discography of Starrducc in several formats, such as vinyl containing EP 1 and 2, and a CD containing the entire discography of Starrducc with 18 songs released exclusively in Japan on December 19, 2025," said Adji, the bassist of Starrducc, on Friday (24/10).

“Of course, I didn't expect it and I'm happy to be released by a Japanese label, especially since this is our first time releasing vinyl," added Mirakei, the lead vocalist of Starrducc.

3. Feels Unique

Pop music that feels unique yet very easy to listen to makes Starrducc's songs quickly accepted by listeners. The mood of Starrducc's songs is also considered suitable for filling the soundtracks of teenage films, including the songs 15,000 Steps and Bianglala, which have become the main songs during live performances.

Songs from Starrducc can already be listened to on various digital music channels. In addition, Starrducc has also released a Live Session video on the Janari Rekords YouTube channel. The audio-visual experience offered is very interesting, receiving a lot of positive responses from listeners.

4. Latest EP Release

In addition to releasing vinyl records and CDs, Starrducc, together with P-Vine Records, will soon launch their latest EP on December 19, 2025. The first single from the latest EP titled Hujan Poyan can be listened to exclusively only in the
Japan region.

"Maybe we should go on tour to Japan next year," concluded Andreas from Starrducc.
