Terry Shares Personal Experience of Being Left by Loved One in Latest Single 'Aku Rela'

Kapanlagi.com - Last April 2021, the beautiful singer, Terryana Fatiah Shahab or better known as Terry, introduced her single titled Tak Sanggup Aku. Now, Terry is introducing a new single titled Aku Rela, which is composed by Ganjar Sukmawansyah alias Gan2, the guitarist of the band Wong and Sahara.

As the title suggests, this song tells the story of letting go of someone who has become a part of one's soul. Terry mentioned that the meaning of the song is very relatable to what happens in real life.

"I got inspiration from everyday stories that are still often experienced, both by people around me and people in general. From these stories, I created a song that tells the story of someone who is left by their lover and has to let go of it," explained Gan2 to the media.

Aku Rela was created in just 5 days, before being sent to Sony Music. Afterwards, Terry was immediately interested in its deep lyrics.

"Sincerity is not an easy thing. The lyrics of this song depict a beautiful sincerity. That's what made me immediately interested when offered to sing Aku Rela. The production process took 1 month. After receiving this song from the A&R team at Sony Music, we recorded, mixed, and mastered it from late September to late October," Terry explained.

2. Prioritizing Simplicity

Still carrying the pop genre, this time, Terry tries to prioritize simplicity in his latest work. One of its main strengths lies in the deeply touching lyrics that can touch the hearts of listeners.

"The way we listen to a song differs. Some focus on the music, some interpret the lyrics. This time, I want to try to create something simple. Not a grandiose musicality, but a song with simple music, yet with deep lyrics. The essence of this song is what I want to emphasize," Terry explained again.

Aku Rela also has a special meaning for Terry personally. That's why, when offered this song, the singer born in Jakarta on June 18, 1984, immediately agreed.

"Before migrating, I have experienced the same thing as the storyline of this song. That's why, when offered, I was immediately interested. If you want to know how I feel when I have to let go, try listening to this song," he added.

"In my opinion, letting go is still the hardest life lesson, at least for me personally. Listening to the story from the lyrics of this song, it encourages me to learn to let go more sincerely. Not only me, but also people who listen to this song can learn to let go of anything that is no longer ours. With that, our hearts will be calmer and we can open a new chapter," concluded Terry.
