The Changcuters' Bassist Has Planned a UK Tour Since Late 2025

The success of The Changcuters in performing in the UK in 2026 is not just a sudden stroke of luck. Dipa plays a significant role as the bassist and the band's manager designer who has been thinking about this agenda long in advance.

Dipa explained that one of his tasks outside of music is to think about what strategic steps the band will take in the future. The plan for a tour in three cities in the UK has already been presented to the other members since the end of last year.

"2026 is indeed at the end of last year, I usually have to think about what to do next year. And I have to present it to these four people. What I will plan, that is one of my tasks besides being a bass player. Yes, that’s right," said Dipa when met in the Panglima Polim area, South Jakarta, Wednesday (8/4/2026).

Dipa feels that the momentum of the 20th anniversary of the song "Hijrah Ke London" is a very sacred time to realize that dream. For him, the success of that song in 2006 must be celebrated in the most authentic way, which is by performing live on British soil.

"Wow, it seems just right that in 2026 I remember that it's been 20 years since the song 'Hijrah ke London'. Ah, I’ll try to figure out how I can perform there," explained Dipa.

This plan actually received an offer to be implemented in 2025. However, due to the band's very tight schedule back home, Tria chose to move it to 2026 so that the team's preparation could be more optimal and mature.

"To make a long story short, last year there were a few people in London who informed me at the right time. Oh, I already said that in 2025 it seems our schedule won't be possible, so we decided to do it in 2026," he added.

The Changcuters are scheduled to fly on April 12, 2026. They will visit Newcastle on the 15th, Edinburgh on the 17th, and London on the 19th as the closing of this historic tour.

"So it won't be too tight. Okay, where will this go? We will be in Newcastle on the 15th, Edinburgh on the 17th, and London on the 19th. Finally in London," concluded Dipa.
