Through the Song 'In Situ' Mezzaluna, Putri Bimbim Slank is Ready to Go International

Kapanlagi.com - Putri Bimbim Slank, Mezzaluna D'Azzuri follows in her father's footsteps in the Indonesian music industry. Not as a drummer, but this 20-year-old girl has a career as a solo singer. In her debut, the girl who is usually called Mez released a song titled In Situ.

This song was written by Mezzaluna herself when she was only 15 years old. Made with English lyrics, In Situ is one of the songs she wrote quickly.

"I actually made this song for a school project, but it seems like this pandemic is a blessing too. I wanted to do something, so we decided to re-record this song and it turns out the result is actually really good," said Mezzaluna during a virtual press conference on Thursday (9/23/2021).

"That's one of the fastest writing processes I've ever done because I'm honest with my feelings. Because it's based on personal experience, I just express what's in my heart," added Mezzaluna.

What's interesting is that the music genre sung by Mezzaluna is far different from her father's. In the song In Situ, Mezzaluna presents a jazz, neo-soul, and alt-pop genre.

"If the music genre is different from what my father creates. Because our generation is also different, I am confident that I can represent my own generation because it is far from my father's generation. I am confident that I can separate from that," he said.

Mezzaluna's debut as a solo singer is not only in Indonesia, but she is also ready to go international. This is because Mezzaluna is under OffMute, a label formed by Sony Music Entertainment.

"The opportunity I have with Offmute has opened many doors in the music industry. I feel optimistic and want all my listeners in Indonesia to know that dreams can come true, no matter where we come from," said Mezzaluna.

The release of Mezzaluna's song In Situ is accompanied by the release of a music video. The video, directed by Deby Sucha and produced by Howdy Productions Indonesia, shows Mezzaluna's restlessness and sadness.
