When Praz Teguh Suddenly Replaces Andika in Kangen Band

Unpleasant news comes from the vocalist Kangen Band, Andika Mahesa. He suddenly fell ill and had to undergo treatment in the hospital, so he could not perform with Kangen Band at The Sounds Project Vol. 9: Beyond Memories held at Ecovention Park Ancol, Jakarta, Saturday (8/8/2026).

Through the official Instagram account of Kangen Band, Andika conveyed his apologies and asked for prayers for a speedy recovery. “I am Andika Kangen Band, I apologize for not being able to entertain everyone today. I am currently sick. Please pray that I recover quickly and can sing with you all again soon,” wrote Andika.

Information regarding Andika's condition was conveyed through a post on the official Kangen Band account. In the message, he emphasized that he could not attend due to illness and is currently undergoing treatment, while hoping to be able to sing again soon.

Andika's absence changed the formation of Kangen Band at The Sounds Project Vol. 9: Beyond Memories event at Ecovention Park Ancol, Jakarta, Saturday (8/8/2026). A quick decision was made to ensure the performance went on as scheduled.

On the other hand, Andika remains a figure eagerly awaited to return to the stage once his condition improves. Supportive messages are flowing in, with hopes that he will recover soon and be able to perform again with his colleagues in Kangen Band.

2. Praz Teguh Appointed a Day Before the Stage

To address the vocal vacancy, Kangen Band appointed Praz Teguh as a last-minute replacement. Praz is known as a YouTuber and musician who often appears as a podcast host, and he was contacted very shortly before the event.

Praz revealed that the offer came on Friday (7/8) afternoon. “Get well soon @babang_andikamahesa so you can perform again. Yesterday at 4 PM, @dodhyofficial called asking for help to back up @kangenbandofficial_ because our handsome brother is sick,” wrote Praz on his personal Instagram account.

He shared that he initially declined Dodhy Kangen Band's request because he still had several commitments, had not played in a band for quite some time, and was not in good physical condition due to frequent travels out of town. However, in the end, Praz accepted the opportunity.

3. Praz's Sudden Action and Audience Response

Praz's decision to step onto the stage was made in a completely sudden situation. He chose to perform and give his best effort to help Kangen Band in front of The Sounds Project audience.

“Well, let's go forward with the energy we have, and coincidentally, I am the DOY branch of Padang! Let's just go for it together with the energy we have,” wrote Praz. After that, he expressed his gratitude to Kangen Band and The Sounds Project for the opportunity given.

Praz's presence was a surprise for the audience waiting for Kangen Band's performance. Meanwhile, Andika remained the center of attention to return to the stage soon after recovering. Support flowed to both of them so that Kangen Band could return with a complete formation in the near future.
